The project is carried forward by Associazione Ramidoro ETS, a non-profit Third Sector organisation under Italian law. It is the families, joined together in the association, who sustain and organise the educational path, with the help of the teachers and of everyone who works on the project.

Our story

Ramidoro has its roots in a wider story: that of L'Albero delle Meraviglie, a long-established Cagliari organisation active in social and educational work. It was there, in September 2018, that the first two Steiner-oriented class groups were formed - a Class 1 and a Class 3. Out of that experience, in November 2019, something new took shape: Associazione Ramidoro, with its pilot project of parent-led, Waldorf-inspired education.

Since then the project has grown, gathering intentions, skills and experience - from several European organisations too - to the point of establishing a College of Teachers that today accompanies 8 class groups and more than 70 children.

How the association is organised

Ramidoro is, in substance, an association of families: it is the parents, as members, who take an active part in the life and the running of the project. The association is governed through a number of bodies, designed to encourage the participation of everyone involved - parents and educators alike.

The Consiglio Direttivo (management committee)

Its task is to make the project's activities possible. Working within the statutes and respecting the educational decisions of the College of Teachers, it takes care of the organisation and the financial sustainability of the project, finding and managing the resources needed so that what the College decides on educational matters can actually happen. Educators take part in its meetings too, which makes the committee the place where parents, administrators and educators come together.

The College of Teachers

This is the educational heart of the project. It is made up of all the educators and meets every week. The College carries the educational leadership: it defines and plans the teaching, oversees the settling-in of every child and follows their school readiness closely, maintains the relationship with families and takes up their questions about the education, and promotes the training and continuing development of the educators. It is in its daily work that Ramidoro's identity and educational ethos take shape.

The Parents' Group

As well as taking part as members in the association's governing bodies, parents bring the community to life: they organise the festivals and the gatherings, help look after the premises and the activities, and support the project in practical ways.

It is this web of relationships and shared work that makes Ramidoro a true educating community.

Transparency

As a Third Sector organisation, Ramidoro cares about being clear with its members and with everyone who supports the project: the statutes, the annual accounts and other useful information are available to members on request.
